The Real Masters - The Azaleas
Flower Power at the Masters
As The Masters tees off, Augusta National’s most famous spectators – its azaleas – are part of the drama. Even if you hate golf, it’s hard not to admire the iconic pink blooms that have a mind of their own, opening on Mother Nature’s schedule. In 2017 they infamously bloomed too early and ghosted the tournament.
This year, we. should expect a fabulous show and to see them in full, check out the 13th hole, named the “Azalea” for over 1600 plants.

Golf is a game of inches, but for Augusta’s flowers, it’s a game of degrees.
For optimal blooming temperatures Azaleas look for daytime temperatures between 60-70°F and nighttime temperatures between 50-60°F.

Coachella Climate
All Eyes on the Sun
Coachella kicks off this coming weekend, and festival-goers are prepping for a party in the literal sunshine. Indio in April typically sees highs in the 80s – sometimes creeping into triple digits and that will be the case this year! Lady Gaga, Green Day, Post Malone, and Travis Scott will headline.
This music festival attracts thousands to the desert who know to pack water, stylish brimmed hats, and an outfit strategy that can survive melting temperatures. Expect to see as many parasols and bandanas (for sun and dust) as there are glitter and neon. The forecast at this music fest calls for bright beats with a 100% chance of sweat.

Weathered Wardrobe
Spring in the U.S. has always been fashion confusion, and this week is no different. One day it’s a sudden 75°F and flip-flops; the next, a brisk 45°F has you digging out that sweater again. Americans are mastering the art of layering in real time – pairing winter boots with sun hats as needed. It’s the season of “dressing by onion,” and Weathered style experts say the hottest accessory right now is… an overstuffed tote bag to hold the jacket you needed this morning and won’t need by lunch.

Iced Drink Season…Activated
Get your Cold Drink order ready!
Latte Edition: Spring temperatures are rising and coffee orders are cooling. Cafés report that the iced coffee season is coming earlier each year as people swap hot brews for cold. In fact, Starbucks now gets over 70% of its beverage sales from cold drinks.
This week, with sunny skies in many spots, you might see park benches populated by folks savoring iced lattes – way ahead of the usual “cold drink” schedule. Cheers to spring, where even the coffee has weather-related mood swings.

No Mow Mayhem
Lawn mowers on spring break? A growing gardening trend called “No Mow May” has homeowners letting their lawns go shaggy for a good cause. By postponing that first mow, people are giving early-season wildflowers (okay, and weeds) a chance to feed hungry bees and butterflies.
The result is a suburban savanna vibe – all in the name of pollinator power (and a great excuse to avoid yard work a little longer).
What are your thoughts? Should we make this a thing?

Barometric Beats
If you haven’t heard this hit by Benson Boone, it’s going to be a perfect for a patio, working outside, or a walk during this weeks beautiful weather. Enjoy!
